Translocation: call and response
Self-measurement intrigues me. Hearing about studies using cell phones to track human mobility, I became interested in charts that depict repeated patterns of movement based on measurements of time and rotations around cell towers. Human connection through voice, the unseen part of this mix, corresponds to previous themes of invisible communication in my work. Translocation: call and response substitutes a choreography of compression and release of lines and dots for the push/ pull of interconnected conversation. The extreme length of cloth requires a walking experience.
