Jane Lackey: Points of Contact included site-specific installations bordered by semi-transparent scrim walls. Placed at opposite and diagonal sides of the middle gallery, the semi-private spaces for writing (Between Us) and drawing (Social Blanket) provided a collective interface for participants over the duration of the exhibition.
A wall text invited viewers to respond to 11 open-ended questions that were printed and distributed throughout a grid of blank labels. Participants could stand at the wall to write on one of the blank labels surrounding the questions. Writing pens were mounted in metal sleeves placed in the wall surface. A custom bench designed with slots for notebooks and pens provided an alternative seat for response or reflection.
